The Blue List: Take Care of Self and Family

Take care of yourself and your family.

  • Ask family members how they’re doing and what they’re worried about. Kids have some big fears, and bullying has already started.
  • Come together, don’t let folks isolate. Invite friends over.
  • Cognitive dissonance is uncomfortable; in this case, what we saw before the election and the outcome don’t match. You’re not crazy.

Get your house in order.

  • It’s going to be about proving yourself over and over again.
  • Make sure you have IDs and passports for everyone, if possible.
  • Many government services will likely be disrupted or dismantled – disability, special needs, subsidized housing, SNAP, and more. What’s your Plan B?
  • Get your financial life figured out. Money is going to get weird.

Consider making large purchases that will get a tariff.

  • President Trump has said he plans to impose a blanket tariff of 10% to 20% on all imports and additional tariffs of 60% to 100% on goods brought in from China.
  • Appliances, cars, small construction.
  • Large construction, energy, and shipping will likely be walloped.

NO! Turns out this was NOT what we were doing. Wear a blue bracelet and show you care.

I’ve turned this into a formal page now!
