With the election just over a month away, now is the time for women to reconsider how we approach our lives, futures, and choices. We’ve been stuck in the weeds for too long, handling the day-to-day, micromanaging the tasks that keep the household and family running smoothly.
But what if we shifted our thinking? What if we started focusing on the big picture—the future we want, the decisions that matter most to our long-term well-being? This shift in thinking is essential, not just for our personal lives but for our role in this election and how we vote.
A Call to Women: Reclaim Your Power
This is about reclaiming our power, agency, and ability to affect real change. You may feel like your vote is just one among millions, but when we think collectively and take charge of our futures, that power multiplies.
So, let’s stop thinking only about the micro and start thinking about the macro. Let’s talk about why this shift is critical to our agency and why it’s deeply tied to what’s at stake in this election.
Finding Your Truth: The Key to Agency
Before you can take action, you need to find your truth.
Your truth guides you through tough decisions, helping you see beyond the immediate stressors of life and into the broader, more strategic choices that will shape your future. What matters most to you? Is it financial security, a stable home life, ensuring your children get the best education, or securing your independence as a woman? Whatever your truth is, it needs to guide how you approach the bigger picture.
When you know your truth, you can start making decisions about more than just getting through the day and focus on shaping your future. This election is a moment to ask yourself: What do I want my future to look like? Am I voting in a way that aligns with my long-term goals, or am I reacting to the short-term stress of political drama?
Moving From Micro to Macro: Reclaiming the Power to Influence
Women are often encouraged to think micro, to focus on the details, the immediate tasks—planning meals, managing the budget, and scheduling doctor appointments. But this micro-focus keeps us constantly busy, handling the small stuff while the big decisions are left to others. This cultural trap keeps us from making the kind of impact that’s within our capability.
Think about how finances are handled in many families. Women manage the day-to-day budget, making sure the bills are paid and groceries are bought, while the long-term financial planning—investments, retirement funds, major financial decisions—is often left to the men. This imbalance doesn’t limit us; it keeps us from building the security we deserve. If you aren’t actively involved in the more significant financial decisions, you miss the chance to secure your future and build lasting wealth.
It’s time to break free.
Ask the tough questions about where your family’s money is going, how it’s being invested, and your long-term financial plan. If you’re not already involved in these decisions, now is the time to step up. Thinking macro isn’t just about money; it’s about building a future that aligns with your truth and your vision for what your life should be.
Health and Safety: Why Macro Thinking Matters
Health and safety are two areas where women are deeply involved, often in the micro sense. We manage the doctor’s appointments, ensure everyone is vaccinated, handle medications, and ensure our kids have what they need to stay healthy. But what about the bigger picture? Are we considering how healthcare policy will affect our families in the long run? Are we considering how changes in law could limit access to the care we need?
Women’s health, particularly reproductive health, is being attacked across the country. Access to abortion, birth control, and even essential healthcare services are being stripped away. If you’re only thinking about the immediate—whether you can get in to see your doctor next week—you might not realize that, in some states, access to critical services is disappearing. And it’s not just about reproductive health. As healthcare becomes more privatized, costs will rise, and access will diminish, especially for women and low-income families.
We can’t afford to be passive about our health anymore. This election will have real consequences for our healthcare. If we continue thinking micro, we risk losing access to essential services. But if we think macro, we can vote for candidates who will protect and expand access to healthcare, ensuring that we and our families have the care we need for years to come.
Why This Election Is Personal
This isisn’tust another election. The decisions made over the next few months will directly impact our lives as women. Policies being proposed right now, mainly through Project 2025, aim to strip away our rights, independence, and ability to make decisions about our bodies, families, and futures. These policies seek to return us to a time when women had little to no agency and when the men in our lives determined our futures.
If you’re not paying attention to the bigger picture, you might miss how much is at stake. Project 2025 wants to roll back the clock on women’s rights, pushing us out of decision-making roles and back into a position of dependency. They don’t want us thinking macro. They want us to think small about the daily details that keep us busy while the real decisions are made without us.
But we know better. We know that thinking big and strategically is how we protect our rights, futures, and families. Voting in this election isn’t just about choosing a candidate; it’s about choosing the future you want to live in. ItIt’sbout protecting your agency, independence, and ability to make decisions about your own life.
Taking Action: Build Your Legacy
This is where your truth comes into play. If you know what matters most to you, you can start building your legacy. That means thinking about the long-term—your health, financial security, and family’s future—and making decisions supporting that legacy. It means voting for candidates who will protect women’s rights, who will ensure that healthcare remains accessible, and who will support policies that allow women to thrive, not just survive.
When we start thinking macro, we realize we have more power than we’ve been led to believe. Women have always been powerful forces for change, and we can continue to be—if we take back control. This isn’t just about this election but the future we want to build.
Do we want a future where women are sidelined, where our rights are eroded, and where our ability to make decisions about our own lives is taken away? Or do we want a future where we have a seat at the table, are part of the decision-making process, and can build a legacy that lasts?
Start Today: Reclaim Your Agency
Thinking at a macro level isn’t just a strategy for success; it’s necessary. We can’t afford to stay stuck in the small stuff any longer. The world is changing, and we need to change with it. By thinking big, asking the hard questions, and by making strategic decisions about our futures, we can ensure that we’re not just reacting to what happens to us—we’re shaping what happens next.
So today, start thinking differently. Look at your life, finances, health, and safety and ask yourself: Am I thinking big enough? Am I making decisions that will protect my future? Am I voting for the future I want to live in? The time to think macro is now. This election will shape our future for decades to come. Let’s ensure that the future is one where women have power, agency, and the ability to live their truth.
Because when women think differently, we change the world.
