The Missing

We know DeAngelo did more than those crimes he admitted. If you think you had a DeAngelo “encounter”, please add your information to the spreadsheet below and add your name to our email list.

Susan Bowlus, (see interview video on right) explains why we are trying to pull together unrepresented crimes. Shortly we will have a discussion group for everyone who wants to discover where he was and what he was doing.

The idea is if you believe you had an encounter with DeAngelo, please list it in the sheet. No matter what you think it is. PLEASE only share what makes you comfortable.

This is absolutely different from the effort announced below by the District Attorney’s office (below). Their notice is looking for stories for their podcast.

DA Schubert Invites the Community to Share Their Story of Living Through the East Area Rapist Crime Spree
The East Area Rapist/Golden State Killer wreaked havoc on his victims, their families and the entire Sacramento community.  Everyone who lived through the terror of his crime spree in California was affected.  Everyone has their own story.

Joseph DeAngelo–the man now convicted of these horrific crimes–is the East Area Rapist.  He is the Golden State Killer.  Beginning August 18, 2020 and ending August 21, 2020, DeAngelo will hear from his victims and their families.  He will then be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

In anticipation of this sentencing, Sacramento District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert wants to hear from those in the Sacramento community who lived through the terror of the East Area Rapist in the mid-1970’s.  How old were you at the time and in what general area of the county did you live?  How did his crimes impact you and your family?  How did you feel the day you heard DeAngelo was arrested?  How do you feel now that he has been convicted and will spend his life in prison?

To tell your story, please email it to EAR.GSK@sacda.org.  Your story may be shared publicly.  Please include your initials.  Your full name and email address will not be posted.
